Chemiluminescence Basic Kit

 

Grades 5-10, (10 demos per kit). Luminescence has applications to many aspects of modern life-from farming to detecting life on other planets.

This experiment produces cold light by a chemical reaction. Chemical energy is converted into light. Turn out the lights and watch as two solutions are poured together to produce a glow-in-the-dark light.

The kit includes

• 1 pair of safety goggles
• 2 - .23g vials of Luminol
• 2 - 500mL 10% bleach solution
• 2 - 500mL 0.1M Sodium Hydroxide solution
• 2 - 100mL graduated cylinders
• a 250mL Erlenmeyer flask
• 1 funnel with tubing kit.
