MacConkey agar is specific in the differentiation between lactose fermenting or non-fermenting organisms. Lactose fermenting colonies appear red to pink in colonies. Lactose non-fermenting bacteria appear as colorless colonies. MacConkey agar is good for gram negative and coliforms. The ready-to-pour solution is supplied in an easy to use, high density, polyethylene bottle. It is safe for shipping and very popular with many of our customers. You will receive 350mL of this ready-to-pour agar. A bottle will fill about 15-20, 100x15mm petri dishes. With proper storage, this product has a useful shelf life of 2 years.
