 Description

Now you can grow Asparagus Ferns from seed! Asparagus Ferns are known for their beautiful foliage. In fact, the tall feathery top of this plant is used to make garlands for brides. The vegetable is thought to be a diuretic and also is known to help settle the nervous system. This plant will bloom with white and pink flowers sporadically.

They are easy to grow, thrive in low light, and will last for years! They germinate readily from seed and make terrific houseplants! Safe for ages 4 and up!

Planting Instructions:

  • 1. Before planting, soak seeds overnight in water to speed germination
  • 2. Pour soil into terra-cotta planter
  • 3. Add one or two tablespoons of water, and blend with soil until saturated
  • 4. Press soil smooth
  • 5. Press soaked seeds about 1/2 inch into the soil
  • 6. Add about 1.5 tablespoons of water if necessary
  • 7. Screw clear terrarium lid on place
  • 8. Place on windowsill
  • 9. Your Asparagus Ferns will start sprouting in one to two months and then grow very quickly
  • 10. Place the egg terrarium in a southern or eastern exposure
  • 11. After removing the top, be sure to keep the plant moist.

Asparagus Ferns can tolerate a wide variety of conditions, but prefer bright light and plenty of water. Asparagus Ferns are not members of the fern family, but are part of the lily family.
