 Description
Basil Seed Pack Basil is a tender, tasty herb that is grown best in warm sunlight. Originally native to Africa, India, and other tropical regions of Asia, it has been grown there for more than 5,000 years. It is popularly used in many types of cuisines throughout the world including Italian, Thai, Vietnamese and Laotian. Grows to between 30–60 cm tall, with opposite, light green, silky leaves 3–5 cm long and 1–3 cm broad. The flowers are quite big and white in color. The plant tastes somewhat like anise, with a strong, pungent, sweet smell. Basil is very sensitive to cold, with best growth in hot, dry conditions. Seeds germinate in 1 week. Complete growing instructions included on the back of seed package. Also works as a natural Insect repellent.
