This oscillating reaction involves the three colors of a traffic light! Indigo carmine, an indicator, reacts with oxygen to produce a green solution when a flask containing sodium hydroxide, dextrose, and the indicator is shaken. After shaking, it slowly returns to the reduced form which is yellow. The intermediate color is red, completing the colors of a traffic light! There are enough chemicals in the kit for 5 demos.

1 x 100ml Indigo Carmine Solution
5 x 3g Dextrose
