The word tsunami comes from two Japanese words, Tsu" for harbor and "nami" for wave or harbor wave. Tsunamis are the world's deadliest and most desctructive waves. Sometimes we refer to tsunamis as tidal waves, although they have nothing to do with any tides. This kit teaches the differences between tsunami waves and regular waves and includes 13 suggested learning activities. Ages 6 and up.
