Details
The probability that a photon of light will be absorbed by a solution is directly proportional to the concentration of the absorbing molecules, the thickness of the sample and the degree to which the molecules absorbs light. This relationship is called the Beer-Lambert Law and is used spectrophotometrically. A series of 5 solutions with different concentrations of iron are prepared and analyzed using the spectrophotometric assay for iron.
