IQ Key Perfect 600 - Robotics and Simple Machines Engineering Kit
IQ Key Perfect 600 Robotics Kit
by American Scientific
With a total of 84 pieces, the Perfect 600 kit is a modular robotics and simple machines kit. The main body pieces are all the same size, and rely on internal gears to for movement. The outcome of the movement is dependent on which ports are connected to each other. A big improvement over a more traditional simple machines system is the use of mechanical ports, rather than connecting wires. This makes the machines much easier to build, and relies less on fine motor skills, making it useful to teach students at a younger age and with less supervision.
The Perfect 600 was designed to stimulate creativity in engineering. With plans to build twenty different simple machines that work together to transfer and transform energy while performing basic movements, students will begin to learn about engineering and its applications.
Once they've grasped the basic concepts, they can expand beyond the included plans to design, build and refine their own machine that allows them to observe the use of force, energy conversions, and basic circuits. It can be used as a stand-alone module, or to teach both Common Core and National Next Generation Science Standards, all while encouraging STEM education.
The IQ Perfect 600 requires 2 AA batteries (not included) to power the motor
