Consiting of a base with two separate parrallel conductors, a large U-shaped magnet that sits between them, and a conducting rod that's attached to a plastic disc, and two wire attachment points, this is an excellent demonstration device for teachers to use in explaining and teaching Fleming's left hand rule.

Typically, LaPlace's Law refers to the Biot-Savart formula ( B=kI/a ), which describes the magnetic field that's generated by a current-carrying conductor. This teaching aide shows the direction of the force generated when a metal wire is placed in the magnetic field, in relation to the directions of the electric current passing through it and the external magetic field.
