World's Simplest Motor Kit - Colors Vary

By Tedco Toys

This little device may very well be the world's simplest motor. It only uses 5 parts to power a spinning coil for days! A colored case covers one size D battery (not included). Two metal arms touch either side of the battery and hold up the copper wire coil. The round magnet is placed in its spot on top of the case. Electricity is sent from the battery, through the metal arms, and into the copper coil. When this happens a magnetic field is formed. Once the magnetic field has formed around the coil, the magnet repels the coil with enough force to spin it around once. As the coil spin, it get charged again, and the process repeats over and over so that the coil rapidly spins until the battery runs out of juice.

Use the World's Simplest Motor to teach about electricity and motors. A great resource for visual, hands-on science education!

Color of plastic cover varies. Includes easy to follow instructions on the back of the package.

For ages 8 and up.
